Cone strainers are temporary filtration devices designed to capture welding slag, rust, scale, and other debris during pipeline startup and commissioning. Installed between flanges, they protect sensitive equipment such as pumps, flow meters, and heat exchangers until the system is fully flushed and operational. Compared to basket, Y, T, and duplex strainers, cone strainers provide a more compact and economical solution for short-term filtration rather than continuous service.
